ABOUT HHO

How much will I save?

HHO is added to your engine to act as a catalyst to ensure that a greater amount of fuel is burnt rather than thrown out the exhaust or wasted in generating heat and vibration. You saving will depend greatly on the current inefficiency of your cars engine. Some older vehicles can get around 30 to 40% savings

What benefits will HHO on demand give me?

Firstly Fuel savings because HHO acts as a catalyst to burn all the fuel that would have normally been thrown out the exhaust. This in turn increases performance by smoothing out and improving overall operation. Almost immediately you will notice a significant reduction in engine noise, as a more complete combustion helps the engine to cycle correctly, this results in noticeable power increase. Over the next month or so the engine will remove built up carbon deposits from unburnt fuel, further increasing your performance & mileage and reducing your emissions

Does it make a difference if it is a Petrol or Diesel Engine?

HHO will work on both Diesel and Petrol engines. Customers with engines with intercoolers must do regular maintenance to clean out of the gas scrubber.

Is a HHO dry cell system hard to install?

It is very simple, All our dry cells and kits have complete detailed installation instructions delivered with them. On average with the right tools and some mechanical know how it should not take longer than a few of hours.

Can I run my car completely on HHO?

HHO added to your engine acts as a catalyst to aid fuel combustion, increase economy and reduce pollution while increasing power, it is not designed to run your car totally.

Are our cars so inefficient?

The average engine uses around 30% of the energy stored in the fuel and wastes around 70% for heat, pollution (unburnt fuel!) and vibration , so by enhancing the efficiency we gain horse power and increase economy while helping the environment.

How much HHO do I need?

We recommend around 1 litre per min per 2500cc engine size. Because it is important to run as low an amp draw as possible you are always better off adding more cells together rather than turning the amps up high to get more gas. This will increase the cell temperature and quite often you are making steam rather than HHO.
Example: An 11 plate will do a 2500cc engine comfortably at around 10 to 12 amps where as 21 plate cell will do up to a 5 litre engine at the same amps, join two of these together and you have easily enough HHO for a 10 litre engine.

What is an EFIE? and do I need one?

Fuel injected vehicles use a computer and sensors to maintain the correct air/fuel ratio. The main sensor is the oxygen sensor. Fuel injected vehicles have one or more oxygen sensors installed in the exhaust stream. The computer takes the information from the sensors and adjust the fuel flow accordingly. Because HHO causes the fuel to burns more efficiently, this means there will be less unburnt hydrocarbons and more oxygen in the exhaust. This the computer will read as the mix is too lean and add more fuel.. We must make an adjustment and so we install the Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer (EFIE). The Effie tells the emissions computer that all is well. and this allows the engine run at peak.Yes I do if my vehicle is fuel injected and has Emission sensors! - No I do not if my vehicle is pre computer prior to 1996  in most countries. 

Which EFIE do I need?

A Digital adjustable EFIE or Pre programmed dynamic computer chip which fits to the OBD11 port of your car. The adjustable efie is for the tinkerer in us all where the pre-programmed chip is install and forget.
 

Will the HHO injection Damage my Vehicle?

In fact the opposite HHO will improve the health of your engine by cleaning it every day. Unburnt fuel deposits that build up in your engine will be removed, reducing wear and tear and increasing performance.

Will the HHO system hurt my battery?

The hho dry cell System requires a very small amount of energy to operate: 10 – 15 amps max, about the same as the average car stereo. Only when you try to turn the amps up too hight like over 18 will the HHO system have any effect. And this will be on the alternator, drawing more power and defeating the purpose of the HHO system.. But in no way hurting the battery!

Will the HHO hurt the environment?

Emissions are largely the result of unburned fuel. With added HHO more of the fuel is completely burnt, emmissions are reduced, to the same degree that your mileage is increases. The result of seperatting apart the water is water vapour and oxygen, two totally harmless substances that may actually help to clean the environment. This reduction in emissions will help to reduce the harmful effects of poisonous pollution and climate change.
 

What is electrolyte?

Electrolyte is the name given to the liquid that contains free ions which act as electrically conductive medium and is used in the Dry cell. KOH (Potassium Hydroxide) is the most common and it is mixed with distilled or demineralized water. Na2CO3 (Potassium Carbonate) is another alternative. Both should be Lab grade quality or cell clogging will be an issue. 

Do I have to add water to my Dry cell?

The Dry Cell reservoir has a removable cap for easy refill. Just add your mixed electrolyte to the reservoir, after the initial mix you only want to add water as the KOH does not get used up in the electrolyte process, so if you add more electrolyte the mix will become too strong and amps will rise.
Do I need a relay? The relay is a very important control element and safety feature, only when the relay is activated will the HHO gas, be made. The control wire to the relay should have an isolator switch and should draw its power from a circuit that is only active when the engine is going. 

What is a PWM and Do I need one (Pulse width modulator)?

The pulse width modulator (PWM) has an onboard trim potentiometer to control the amount of RMS voltage and current to your hydrogen booster. Your HHO Generator will run cooler and make more hydrogen which has greater ability to increase fuel mileage. However you can control amp usage by increasing or decreasing your electrolyte concentrate. (You will need a hydrometer for this.)

Do I need a flash back arrestor?

We recommend that all HHO generator sets are fitted with this type of device to prevent any flame travelling back along the line from a backfire of the engine. We use the Vaporizer/Scrubber which acts as a Spark arrestor as well as a gas cleaner.

HHO TROUBLE SHOOTING

My bubbler is full of foam. How can I stop this?

KOH when coming in contact with oil, like sweat greasy hands will react and form soap bubbles. Adding anti foam especially formulated for HHO systems is the best. 

Why does my HHO generator overheat?

Generally the most common cause is the operator trying to get too much HHO by turning up the amps up to high or increasing the catalyst in the water. If you need more HHO you are better to piggy back two cells together and spread the amps over two cells. 

My Dry cell has blown an o ring!

Restricting the gas flow is the main cause, the line to the bubbler is blocked or the check valve is in the wrong way. The reservoir is not high enough above the cell, min 30cm.

The amps fluctuate continuously!

The cell is choking and full of gas and no electrolyte flow.. Reduce amp via the PWM. Make sure the correct height between the reservoir and cell is 30cm at least.and check for any blockages.

My Hydrogen system still runs when the ignition is on accessories!

Your HHO system has been installed incorrectly and can be dangerous. Firstly you should have a isolator switch on the control wire to the relay and this control wire must take its power from a circuit that is only powered up when the engine is running, For example the oil light wire.

My HHO cell is making steam!

If you are running your amps too high and the cell is too hot to touch this is when steam is being made. One way to test for steam is to run your gas outlet over some ice. If you get significant amounts of fog forming (water droplets), you know that at least a good percentage of your output is steam. Turn down the amps and if you need more gas add another cell.

My generator is working but the gas is not getting to the engine!

This problem is generally found to be leaks within the system, check the reservoir and vaporizer caps, an overall check of hoses and connection points. You can use soapy water in a spray bottle for this.

My cell id full of black soot!

The most probable cause is using low grade ingredients for your electrolyte. Always use Lab grade. Having your amps too high also can cause this effect.

HHO TECHNICAL TERMS & ANSWERS

What are your cells made of?

We use only 316L 1.2mm Marine grade Stainless Steel in all our HHO Generators. The Plates Used in Our Dry Cells Are All Laser Cut, this does have an effect on performance and production of hho gas!!
The Acrylic end caps are 100mmX100mm X12mm thick rated at 145 degrees C. The 2 hose barbs are 1/4″ or 3/8 depending on the plate numbers. The attachment bracket angles are aluminium 2 X 6mm wing nuts for easy connection to the power source

What is the surface area of a 21 plate cell?

What Maintenance do I do on my Hydrogen on Demand system?

Make sure that the engine is off and the Generator is cool before servicing. For extra safety, also remove the fuse to the battery connection before servicing. At the same time you will want to check all the hoses and electrical on your complete Hydrogen on Demand system for good connections.

Check the water level about every gas fill up, keep it about 1″- 1 1/2″ from the lid. Occasionally you will need to service the cell, after time you will find a brown build up that reduces gas production. Empty out the electrolyte solution and discard. Make up a mild solution of around 20% hydrochloric acid and water, fill the cell and reservoir and circulate for 10 to 15 minutes or until cell is clean. Remove acid mix and flush cell and reservoir with fresh water. Fill with fresh electrolyte.

How does the MAP sensor work?

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor signal is an electrical signal. It takes a 5 volt signal from the ECM or ECU (Environmental Control Unit) computer, and returns a lower direct current signal in relation to the vacuum in the engine. A higher output means lower engine vacuum, which is then calculated as “more fuel is needed”. Lower output signal indicates higher engine vacuum, which requires less fuel. It’s not just fuel control. The MAP sensor signal gives the computer a dynamic indication of engine load. The computer then uses this data to control not only fuel injection, but also gear shift and cylinder ignition timing.

Do I have to pre condition the cell when new?

Pre conditioning is a good idea! Precondition your cell by running a weak solution of electrolyte thru the system for around an hour. Firstly make up a normal strength electrolyte solution then just remove a small amount into another container and just water it down and put it into the system and turn on. During this time you will not be making much HHO. Once the hour is up drain out and replace with full strength electrolyte.

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the term used for the separation of chemically bonded compounds by passing an electric current through them.

What is an electrolyzer?

This is the HHO generator, because it uses electrolysis to separate each water particle (molecule) into a different arrangement, 2-Hydrogen, bonded together, plus 1- Oxygen.
